Resume Building Tips For Internships

You will need a resume if you are looking for an internship and applying for the intern jobs. And remember your resume will be one of the deciding factor for getting a call for internship.

A well made resume, which identifies your goals, academic background, skills, experience (if any), and activities, is just as critical for the internship search as it will be for your job search after you complete your education. A resume or CV which is for internship may not be very different from the one that you will use for a job application - both in intent and content. However, you may include some information for the internship resume which you may not in your final resume for the job search.

Structure of an internship resume:


* Objective of Internship: Write your objective for internship (customize for internship you are applying)
* Skills: Write your skill set (relevant to internship you are applying)
* Relevant experience: Write your experience relevant for internship. This may be part time experience or other projects. Explain in detail.
* Other experience: List the other experience (not related to internship being applied for). Be brief as this is not so relevant.
* Education: (Reverse Chronological - include present course up to last semester)
* Awards and Honors: (List any awards, honors, scholarships)
* Extra curricular activities
* References: Give some academic and if possible related industry references
* Contact Information: (Name, Address, Phone, Email)

Some Tips for writing internship resume:

* Tailor your resume for internship your are applying
* Write tailored cover letter or email
* Use 'Reverse Chronological' for education and experience
* Keep the contact details latest (don't miss that one call)
* Propose your project while being flexible to change it if organization demands
* Keep it short - 1 page resume and 5 line cover letter
* Be prepared with your "Elevator Speech"

Below are the Interview Questions, which were asked in HR Round.

No one will GET second chance to impress.

Very very Impressive Questions and Answers.

Question 1: You are driving along in your car on a wild, stormy night, it's raining heavily, when suddenly you pass by a bus stop, and you see three people waiting for a bus:An old lady who looks as if she is about to die. An old friend who once saved your life. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing very well that there could only be one passenger in your car?

This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application.

* You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first;

* or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect chance to ! pay him back.

* However, you may never be able to find your perfect mate again.The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble coming up with his answer. Guess what was his answer?

He simply answered:"I would give the car keys to my Old friend and let him take the lady to the hospital. I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the partner of my dreams."

Sometimes, we gain more if we are able to give up our stubborn thought limitations. Never forget to "Think Outside of the Box."

Question 2:What will you do if I run away with your sister?

"The candidate who was selected answered " I will not get a better match for my sister than you sir"

Question 3:Interviewer (to a student girl candidate) - What is one morning you woke up & found that you were pregnant.

Girl - I will be very excited and take an off, to celebrate with my husband.Normally an unmarried girl will be shocked to hear this, but she managed it well.

Why I should think it in the wrong way, she said later when asked

Question 4:Interviewer: He ordered a cup of coffee for the candidate. Coffee arrived kept before the candidate, then he asked what is before you?

Candidate: Instantly replied "Tea"He got selected.You know how and why did he say "TEA" when he knows very well that coffee was kept before.

(Answer: The question was "What is before you (U - alphabet)Reply was "TEA" ( T - alphabet)Alphabet "T" was before Alphabet "U"

Question 5: The interviewer asked to the candidate

"This is your last question of the interview. Please tell me the exact position of thecenter of this table where u have kept your files."

Candidate confidently put one of his finger at some point at the table and told that this was the central point at the table.

Interviewer asked how did u get to know that this being the central point of this table, then he answers quickly that sir u r not likely to ask any more question, as it was the last question that u promised to ask.And hence, he was selected as because of his quick-wittedness.

"The six keys to success".

1. Attitude
Bloom where you are planted. You have a choice to get back up after temporary set backs. Attitude is a small thing that makes a big difference!

2. Direction
If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there. Write your short term goals down on paper. I have discovered and continue to discover that putting your dreams and goals down on paper lock in or focus your belief that they can be achieved--even if you have to take a course correction in achieving your goals. Success comes in cans, failure comes in can'ts.

3. Values
Explore what is important to you. Maybe it is family, friends, your spirituality or working hard at any given task. I can assure you that your priorities will change as you grow older. Very important that you value yourself and treat yourself like the valuable gift from God that you are.

4. Interests
Birds of a feather flock together. This is to say that if you are hanging around winners or others with a "can do" mind-set, you'll likely adapt to this same kind of thinking. Remember--"SUCCESS LEAVES CLUES!

5. Commitment
Feelings may change, commitments do not. "Success is getting up one more time than you fall." I have often wanted to give up, and then I must think to myself about what the consequences of giving up will be. Generally, this is more than enough of a motivation to make us stick to the task at hand even if we don't feel like it. When the task is achieved, Whow!--IT FEELS GREAT!

6. Encouragement
Be an encourager and comforter to friends that are feeling discouraged. I promise that you will not regret this as you will be encouraged by one, if not many, when you are feeling down. Encouragement and love are contagious qualities that can change the minds of the most stubborn and "hard-to-get- along-with" people you know. I have seen it happen over and over again.
